GOLD CANYON:2 new Trails now OPEN; riders needed

The Trails are done; the signs are now 'up'. and LONGHORN and OWLS NEST are on Trailforks; so Sedonites, git outa the snow and c'mon down to Paradise South.

LONGHORN is the new easy 'up' from the KIKI/Old Horse Trail junction up to the top of QUARTZ RIDGE where it intersects the Donelly Horse Trail; and where it meets with the start of OWLS NEST (named for the nest in the big Saguaro about 1/2 way along).

At the West end of OWLS NEST you swing down onto the flat col, and then continue West for another 50 yards to enter QUARTZ RIDGE and enjoy the techy ride West and finally down to the 2 year old Trail taking you North to the Old Horse Trail at the HOLY HILL/VORTEX junction. QR was made mtb friendly 2 yrs ago by the efforts of many area riders; initiated by Bryan from BC. YUP, TD was involved too; after he finished DIAMONDBACK, MOHAVE and TD.

The five 'Superstitious Trail Builders' invite riders to come and enjoy GC.
And don't miss K, TECH LOOP, PHANTOM, and HOO DOO if you like Black coffee. And TD, TRANSITION, SNOWBIRD, COYOTE, and DFMI if yer feelin Blue.

Get yer tires onto some GC dirt soon.
    Cheers
    TS

Hey TS nice write up. I am sure your local owlologist came out to make sure that was a regular prolific Barn Owl and not the dreaded Spotted Owl that keeps the Flag folks from quickly building an awesome GC type trail system in Flagstaff.

As you may suspect trail conditions are super awesome in Shredona right now after the recent 1 1/2 rain event. I am hoping conditions deteriorate here so I can justify a visit to Paradise from Paradise.

Keep up the great work and I will check out the routing of those two masterpieces on Trailforks.

We identified it as a NIGHT OWL, and it was confirmed by Ginger, the barmaid at the Handlebar in AJ. She's quite a self proclaimed expert on birds (and men) of prey; as you know!
Conditions r super here too; there's 6 feet of snow at Whistler; so great there too!
    What a world!
