Goat Camp in White Tank park... the time is NOW!

In the spirit of stoke revival on this forum, I offer up some pics from this weekend. Carrie from CO (she posts on MTBR as CRD) stopped by on a short vacation to find some warmth on AZ dirt. A small group met up to show her one of the lesser traveled Phx area trails - Goat Camp.

The plowing of the hike-a-bike on Mesquite has opened up the trail to hoards of hikers who were also out enjoying the beautiful day, but soon we had the trails to ourselves.

I always forget how much climbing you do to get to Goat Camp trail. There are brief downs up top, but then there is more climbing... and then some more.

Eventually, it's time for the DOWN of Goat Camp. That first section is a free-for-all rock-surfing bunch of chaos.

I should stop along the way - there are so many killer spots for photos - but once again, I stopped only at the Spiral Staircase....

... and Jackhammer, where Supermoto (Carmen) schooled us all on the fine art of letting go of the brakes.

Twas a great day. Get your Goat Camp while you can cause all too soon it will be too hot for this stellar ride!

Sweet pics. Saw you guys out there on the climb up Mesquite on Sunday, I was the guy in the blue shirt and black trunks on the stumpy. Definitely a lot of hikers that day some of whom didn't want to get out of the way on the climb up Amazing day, incredible trail. I am truly blown away at the quality of the trails down in the valley

You all ROCK! Reminds me to head back out there. The last time I was out there I slashed a tire and my phone battery died before I got to the top of Mesquite, and was running out of daylight (and I had no light with me), so I had to turn back.

Thanks for posting the stoke! We need more of these posts!
