Anyone know how the conditions are on six shooting and the fire road going up?

Just cause its been warm down here doesn't mean were getting up there 3 months early Sorry been calling weekly and the road up is under snow past the trees and muddy at the bottom . I also have a buddy that lives up that way and he says gate has been closed at the bottom.

A buddy and I rode it a week ago actually... we had to ride some of the fire road once the snow got too deep for our shuttle vehicle. A little over a quarter of the trail was covered in snow that we were either bashing through having a blast or hiking through mostly because it was just too deep. Still a cool experience tho shredding a little snow! The temperatures started in the twenties and got into the fifties at the bottom.

Cool to hear ..... but that kind urks me as they (fs office )said road was not drivable even up to sulphide del ray..You guys ride on the weekend? trying to figure why gate would be shut now supposed and not then.

No we went on a tuesday morning... and it was my first time there so idk where you guys normally shuttle to but we had to ride up the fire road a good three miles at least till we got to the six shooter trail sign.

Okay made the trip today..Only a few icy/snowy spots up to kelner trailhead then hardpack after that. Lots of snow up top and in canyons on north side..soon for sure creeks are running icehouse buried lol
