    Garmin Edge 200

My computer took a dump and I need to replace it. I don't need anything real fancy and am considering the Edge 200.

    Anyone using one? Opinions?

The girlfriend uses the Garmin 200 and is great for her. Hard to beat for the price. What data are you wanting to log?

I'd say I lose 1-2 miles of every ten on twisty trails because it doesn't sample enough. It works fine and is cheap, but I wish I'd gotten the 500 and a wheel sensor.

It would be interesting to compare the 200 and 500 on the same ride.

    Garmin Edge 200

If you use a smartphone (iOS or Andriod) you could just use an app that are generally free or low cost and do everything the Garmin would do for a lot less.

edge 500 - about the same size, costs another $100 but it gives tons of more features and ability to follow GPX tracks - poor man's NAV!

I don't want my phone exposed to possible damage if i crash and the battery life is not great.

Turning off AutoPause might fix this. It did for me.

I want to retract that statement. Edge 500 sucks for NAV, freezes up and it's generally useless...

I just pre-ordered this for $225... finally a product for MTB navigation and yeah it does all that basic computer BS as well.
