    Flashback...before I rode a mountain bike

I haven't snapped any recent pics in a bit, so here's a couple from the waaaay back machine, when 20" wheels ruled my life. How rad is that?

    Grip ride at the Wedge

Anyone else remember Thrasherland in Glendale?

Pre-show warmups back in Allentown, PA

Pretty much the extent of my ramp riding, I wasn't that good at it. Kinda scared the crap out of me even though it was my ramp!!

Pretty high on the Rad Scale, IMO.

Almost Sedona Season. Alternate line on HiLine.

John: nice photos ! back in the days when it was "rad" and not "epic"....

I think people still rollerblade in California ???

That last shot I cannot figure out how you are getting that air. It doesn't look like you are launching off of any lip there...

It wasn't so much a lip, but the ramp did go to vert for about 2" after the 8' transition. The only reason my dad allowed me to build it was if I made a large enough deck so he could enclose it & use it as a shed!! I don't think our neighbors fully appreciated it.

Sometimes, when I ride above the hills of Anthem early in the morning, I wonder...will Anthem someday be as much an archeological remant of bygone times as the 15th century Hohokam Indian ruins just above me?

With the talk on here earlier this week about the Scottsdale Sonoran Preserve North I figured I should give it a try. Pics from today. Nice beginner area, nice area to rack up some miles...local knowledge would help though as I did find some sand out I would have rather avoided. Otherwise fun. I'll go back.

I used to race moto out at Thrasher in the mid 90s. Prior to the dirtbikes I lived and breathed BMX! I never did much ramp/park stuff, but I did have my own BMX track in my backyard! Then I traded my BMX for a dirtbike and my Dad dozed the BMX track in fear that it would become a moto-x track.

That's awesome dude. I remember you mentioning that you rode freestyle, but I didn't realize you were a total bada$$ at it!

Went to Thrasherland many times in the early 2000's. The fiberglass snake run was like riding on a hot greased skillet when it was coated in dust (which was pretty much all of the time).

Let's not forget that Arizona actually used to have a Vans Skatepark at Metrocenter Mall of all places (which I think they are currently converting into the world's biggest K-MOMO...)

While we're on the 20" thread hijack, here's one from my college days when it was still kosher to ride BMX in the frat house...

    none shall pass

I found a balloon blocking the trail this week.

    Foto Friday 8.29.13-1146257_10151623242738123_237343913_o.jpg

i stabbed it with my knife, to deflate it and take it home to put in the trash. when i picked it up, it did this, quite unexpectedly:

i dropped it like it was a snake trying to bite me.

A little stroll up in Payson

I'm trying to get acclimated to the high country before the Fire on Rim race. I took the SS out for a stroll around Payson. The clouds were putting on a show today.

    You shall not Pass!

Rode the Phoenix Sonoran south loops last night. It was a nights full of reptile encounters. First, I ran across a Pink Rattler on the climb to the top of Dixie. Second, as I descended the cholla forest east into the wash I came across a Tortoise in the middle of the line. Luckily I saw him and avoided a head on collision. No pictures of the snake, I didn't stick around, but here is one of the tortoise. Foto Friday 8.29.13-img_1107.jpg

A few pics from Labor Day in Sedona. It seems so easy to take pictures up there. Almost anywhere you point your camera is a nice shot.
