Well gear whore how did the bike climb? Was this your first ride on the FB or did you ride it previously?

It is finally monsoon season here and it is pouring right now. Hope to go out and ride some trails that need some packing in after it stops raining.

    We miss you guys here.

Nice stuff... Having just visited your beautiful part of the world, I have a greater appreciation for those long ladder/log rides. They are hard! Bet the Firebird is awesome on your trails.

That would be Mt. Baker. One of the Volcano's in Washington State, 10,000 ft.

Mt. Baker Ski area is on Mt. Shukson one of the side peaks. Lots of backcountry skiing in that area!

FYI, we skied 100m from the Summit last April...

Awe, the famous resort that once received 1000+ inches of snowfall in one season. So, is the ridge your on looking south towards Washington State making you on the canuck side of the border?

PS, your pics and vids of sedona and the northwest are some of the finest I've seen. Please keep it up.

that would be the one! We are very close to the american border as the bird flies. LOTS of complex terrain between though. In the third picture, the far peak to the right of my head is in the US, the peak on the left is in Canada.

    Thanks!

As always you and Lee seem to be enjoying yourself. Good to see you haven't worn out the Firebird YET.

I was in Moab the last couple of days enjoying the higher up trails dodging lightening.

Nice! So its cooler in Moab then Sedona?! Its been really warm here! Its great! Trails are MINT!
WBP is only NOW getting dusty, although I haven't been up there much in the last month.

Lee rode the Firebird ONCE and punctured the lower leg of the Float... its in the shop getting fixed. Fortunately I have a Van36 I could put on it.

Pivot got into the Alpine again! This time further out in the Valley east of Vancouver.

This is a 1300m climb/descent in 8.6km. Some may be mighty enough to climb all the trail but not us!

Lee and I were riding on Vancouver Island last week in the Comox Valley. Some pretty nice trails over there! Figured I'd take the Pivot to see how it did on a more XC type trip. I did notice the slacker angle on the longer climbs, bit more bike then needed on this trails, but it did just fine!

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That trail is so cool. My buddy Eric built Cheap Thrills and I wonder if he had anything to do with HS. We have a ton of downhill trails in Sedona, but nothng that long. Most Sedona downhill trails last about 45 seconds,

That's IT. You MUST bring your firebird up next time you're spending some time here.

Geeze. There is SOOO much more then just the park!

I had to do two parts since the vids were so good. I also have WAAYYYY too much footage from Kyber Pass...

So the Firebird seemed to enjoy that HS ride. I did a Google search on the trail to see where it is at. One of my searches came up with a Blog (http://anotherheader.wordpress.com/2...e-and-danimal/) that an EX friend did on that ride with his girl friend. They didn't like the ride and apparently got sucked into Industrail Disease,

I helped my friend Eric build a section of trail that helped bypass ID and I was wondering if you did an EveryTrail post yet to show the GPS track. Did you end up on Danimal or did you drop down to Function?

we ended up on upper sproat, then went to daminal. There is an intersection where you turn left to go to daminal, right to ID.

I didn't GPS this since I already have that track. I can post on everytrail if you like. Should be the same as what we did.

Firebird loves the tech! low bottom bracket and all!

    Eric who?

    my preference would be

    vanilla 36 160

    Lyrik DH

    Float 36 160

Apparently the Float 36 160 with the Kashima coating is supposed to have less sticktion with the Kashima coating.
