    Fabulous Foto Friday 7-12-2013

I spent last week camping, riding, and relaxing with friends at the North Rim.

We ran into Tuna... he's relocated from Sedona to Jacob Lake for his FS duties.

Lots of clouds meant great sunsets, but not so great star viewing.

On Friday night we had about a hour window to catch some stars before the clouds rolled in again.

Tuesday was the 10 year anniversary of STP - Short Track at Papago. I was stationed at Hole-in-the-Rock for a required photo stop for the racers. Fun times!

Great shots so far! I'll add a few from this week.

A couple of spirited hikers walked by while I was taking a few bike shots.

    Sunset from the McDowell Mtns.

I got a shot of Bigfoot near Dry Lakes, or maybe it was a wild turkey.

Tuna! Haven't heard from that guy in a while. Great shots all. There were some serious clouds rolling through the Village, so I hopped on the bike to get some shots. Scenery was good, dirt was amazing.

Poland Junction to Breezy Pines to Mount Union

Some Grape Vine canyon in there too. Mostly Poland Junction to Mount Union Ride. I had a lot of technical problems on the ride but I absolutely LOVED the weather and wildlife watching... Saw deer, rattlesnake, and wild turkey...

A couple early morning shots. Loved the cloud cover this past week, although the humidity really saps your strength.

Spent the week on Lake Powell so did not get in any rides but I did make it to Cathedral in the Desert for the first time in many years so figured I'd share.

Kath, when you publish your book I'll take two copies, would you sign them for me?

I was just wondering if she would sell prints. Maybe cool bike pics in my house would motivate me to ride more. Also they are pretty great shots.

Thanks for the kind words! You can browse my pics at durtgurl.smugmug.com. I recently restricted download and purchase controls after one of my moon images got "pic of the day" on Earthsky.org and I saw traffic to my site skyrocket. But soon I will set it up so that anyone can buy prints directly from Smugmug. And if you want to download the file, just let me know and we can arrange it. I'm not looking to make $$ from my photography and instead am just honored and thrilled when someone wants to use one of my pic as their FB portrait or wants to hang a print in their home.
