    F@#K It

    Anybody riding PMP tomorrow?

I absolutely despise riding with others. I treat my rides as an escape, and enjoy the alone time. It's my "me time." But since I need to be all frigging lovey dovey now, maybe I need to learn to play good with others.

(On a side note, the over under on the first "masturbation" comment is 5.)

I think Mr. Skinny-tire was referring to Tucson not really having any mountain biking per se. Where as I misconstrued Mr. Skinny-tire's comment to imply that he thought that I thought that he was requesting a road ride, as per his moniker, and was clarifying such that he was indeed looking to ride *mountain* bikes and not as I misconstrued "road bikes".

No improprieties here I tell you. Just a differing of opinions as to what MTBR users prefer between their legs and what they prefer to use that tool for.

I may be super in Awesomeness but my status is only mod. I get to play with AZ people, Salsa people, fat bike people and 29er people. Super not so much. Awesome +10!

And wait: you don't in fact want to come to tucson and ride with me? That seems harsh, as I said I am super awesome! and the long drive you give you plenty of alone time plus the trails here are cooler cause we are at a higher elevation than PHX.

In all seriousness, maybe some day, but not tomorrow. As a former Wildcat, I do miss Tucson. Outside of Fantasy Island and the 24hr OP course, I have not partaken in any of your trails. But I seriously would like to check them out.

If those 2 trails are your only taste of Tucson trails, then you have been seriously deprived!!!

No offense to those that like them, as it is good that there is something for everyone, but those are the 2 least favorite trails that I can think of IMO. I would only ride them if I lived close by, but sure would not waste a drive of any distance to go to either of them.

It would be safe to say that you have not been on this one then?

Spent two weeks in Tucson in April, met a bunch of nice folks and rode some cool stuff. It's hard to pick the best for me: Very close between 50 Yr. and Milagrosa. Both were great. 50 might get a slight nod just for all the options.

Coming down for another week in October.

    You really must!!

There are some pretty gnarly trails with easy access right from Tucson. The picture I posted is from John Krein trail. This is the view looking south towards the pass that the main loop of the Starr Pass trail goes through. The trail going south is a mother%$&*@r!! I usually come back down the same way I go up. The south exit drops off some tough rock ledges into baseball/bowling ball loose rocks, and very steep. You basically floss your butt with the tire, and hang on for dear life.

There are some others that are pretty techy in the area. Up to the top of Toilet Cake is very techy, and has a great rock formation to ride on at the top. Around Golden Gate past Gates Pass is a very stair steppy ride. Also, the trail going around the east side of the mountain in that picture(Cat Mtn) which we call "Cool Cat" is a technical treat as well. Then add in Hooligan, and Hidden Canyon, and it makes for some nice technical riding. These are all what you would probably call old hiking trails, and nothing at all like what the county builds for biking. You may or may not like them, depending on your appetite for chunk.
