    El Paseo del Tortuga Vieja

    Formerly Area 52

Now, Unclassified: El Paseo del Tortuga Vieja. We had just a short little session, a nice picnic on the rocks with the ladies and it was excellent.

We started with a little breather wading in the Gila, then headed up to ride.

Louis was hitting some new lines off of old runs and I was getting some new shots…

…from the chute down the 'white slabs' descent into the 'bowl'…

…follow the bottom of the spillway, wary of the 'breakaway' rock sheets and scree…

…take the high line over the 'left knob' avoiding the loose bottom rock…

…that's all for now, tomorrow the initial 'drop -in'…

    Drop-in

The landing zone is in between the small barrel and the grass.

The huck is just under 'head high'…

… and the run continues to the photo foreground, left.

In this quick pano you can see across the valley. The chute run continues through the 'shadow' area on the left and runs down to the valley floor.

(The first photo set was shot right where the shadow begins, looking up at this area).

Here's a look at a sequence shot of the 'drop-in'.

    Another angle…

Due to last week's rain, it was perfect. If it doesn't get too hot too quickly, maybe another, longer day out there should be done.

    Here's a shot of the drop-in from another angle…

Rocks, views, lizards, colors and cxompany were great.

    Thanks for looking.
