    Droid GPS Apps?

Well, to get in before Verizon got rid of the unlimited data plan I upgraded my flip phone to a Droid Charge yesterday.

Anyone familiar with an App that can be used to track my rides using the phone's GPS? Can I expect the phone to get a good enough signal while stuffed in my Camelbak ?

I'm a smart phone virgin so be gentle

I use an app called My Tracks on my droid phone. I've had no problems with it stuffed in my Camelbak.

I've used my tracks works well, although I prefer the everytrail app it allows you to take photos during your mapping sequence and logs where the photo is taken.

    Others I've tried include
    MapMyRide
    AllsportGPS

    Peace

Everytrail works well also. Just do a search for it in the market.

i barely know how to use my non-smart cell phone.. i find it easier just to ride with someone who knows where they're going.

I also use Endomondo. You can look up their site online too for more info - www.endomondo.com When you get one or more apps installed, I suggest going for a walk around your neighborhood to see how they work. Easier than trying to figure things out while riding.

    Oruxmaps.
Not only tracks but allows internet access to every map out there. Offline mapping (where there is no reception). Stats. upload to the net and much more.
    Love it.

Hmm I'm gonna have to try a few of these. I've been using My Tracks and when it works it works well...but sometimes it says I am going 200 mph and it starts recording about halfway through the trail occasionally.

I'm just gonna suck it up and buy a proper computer to mount to the bike eventually
