    DH days of Elden

With Sunrise shut down due to the Wallow fire, I expected Elden to be crawling with DHers this weekend.... not so! We practically had the trails to ourselves on Sunday. Once you got used to surfing the dust, it was a blast (especially with new contacts and goggles)!! In these pics are APB, Samantha, Don, Cenobuns, and Grave9.

Mingus was busy with shuttlers on saturday. We were doing a road ride from sedona to prescott valley and back and saw the Gnargnar van and a bunch of other trucks filled with DH bikes. We rode eldon on sunday and didn't see any DH action happening.
Racing is life. Anything that happens before or after is just waiting.

Although we did do a Catwalk-Hobbit forest-Onion run, the DH set utilizes trails seldom accessed by the XC folk. Most would scare the poop out of me on my 29ers, but Wasabi would be a hoot on any bike!! Jayem joined us for a Wasabi run on his Highline.

Thought Gnargnar wasn't dong forest trips due to no permits

Okay, so who hid Drew's gloves? It's all fun and games until somebody breaks a nail!

Phew! Glad we got THAT sorted out. These identity crisis are stressful!

So, who DID hide Dion's gloves?

Looks like a good time. There's some very cool action shots. Nice!

Geez, Kathleen. You spend an entire day in my truck and don't even know my handle?

Having never ridden DH in Flag before, it took a bit to get used to all the dirt (instead of rocks). That said, I had an absolute blast. I love riding in Phx, but some of the stuff there on Elden is just incredible.

Sorry! It was awfully nice of you to offer up your shiny new truck for this adventure. I'm thinking it's not so shiny today?? I liked it when you were following me down Double D the first time and I could hear you hooting over every drop. That trail is FUN!!!!

Nice! Regardless of who was or wasn't there, it was a great day to be riding! Glad I ran into the "crew". I was kinda there.
