    Crossing the Salt River

I was looking for routes to cross the Salt River between the Beeline Hwy and Bush Hwy but don't see many options.

Anybody have any ideas on crossing the Salt? I'm looking for something near Phon D Sutton, what's the river like around there?

when do you want cross? the water is low right now. You might get.accross there with the.bike.on your shoulders and shoes on. The rocks are slippery. Are you going to.ride.through the rez?

I'd like to avoid the res except the canal road is too perfect to just ignore. So I looked on a few maps at other spots I could use from the end of Shea Blvd. but there really aren't any all the way to where the two highways meet further north which is too far.

Granite reef damn. Further west than what you're looking for.

Gill, when are you doing this? I've been wanting to recon that area as well for the Central AZ500 route. If you get out there before I can, let us know what you find out. The hand-drawn track that I have, shows it crossing just south of Granite Reef by about 1000' feet or so.

RIght on, thanks James. After I was detoured a few times recently because of fencing around some of the canals/spillways I wasn't sure how that area would be.

Awesome, I was thinking the whole canal/dam area was in the rez and off-limits. Time to take another look...
