heh heh, i kind'a agree if the ride is on long stretches of straight roads with no variations! besides, it's still too cold for road rides (i hope ms durtgurl doesn't see this, as i love winter mtb riding and she likes summers. ) my roadie hybernates all winter and comes out when the temps warm up to the 70s.

tiff, i hope you come saturday!

    Maybe

My partner here at work has been out sick since Jan 4th and I'm buried under a mountain of work. I might take the weekend off just because I'm tired.
    It looks ridable, follow me....................

Fun ride variation starting from 7th Avenue Park

My Satuday plans are really up in the air, but I may be able to make it.

Here is a fun loop variation when riding T100 starting from 7th Avenue Park. Ride east on T100 past Dreamy Draw almost to Tatum. Turn south on 8A and ride to the top of the ridge to where 36th Street dead-ends at the weird house with the military grade barbed wire fencing. Scream down 36th Street as fast as your sense of safety will allow. Cross Lincoln and ride to where 36th Street dead ends at the Canal. Spin west on the canal bike path past the Biltmore back to Sunnyslope. Ride a couple of blocks from the canal to the trailhead.

If you say 10am and the east/west loops I'm in. ...oh and afterwards I may take a break and head up to Javelina or National. I've been having the need for a little pain lately....

bweide, this is a c-ride which means we are not into technical trails such as the one you're describing. we also ride at a slower pace than the advanced folks, and stop more to socialize or take pics and/or stuff like that. just to let you know what to expect if you do come.

    We met @ SoMtn today.

Hello Kaboose, This is John and we met at So Mtn today. I hope to meet for your Trail 100 ride this Sat. I may be helping a friend move his 125 gal fish tank. If this doesn't conflict, I'll be there. Thanks for the invite.

    Long but very moderate loop

[QUOTE=kaboose]bweide, this is a c-ride which means we are not into technical trails such as the one you're describing. QUOTE]
I am definately a C/B- rider so I wouldn't recommend a A+ death-march ride. The route I suggested is actually quite moderate. If you leave Trail 8 just before the big wash crossing, you can climb to the top of the ridge on old jeep roads. The ride has more one-way single-track miles but fewer overall single-track miles because you don't have to reverse all of the miles from Dreamy Draw back to the 7th Avenue trailhead. In fact, if you combine the T100-36th Street-Arizona Canal loop with the T100 alternate which travels south on the west side of the ridge above Cave Creek Road, you actually have a very moderate ride for the total number of miles.

    I'm there.

I should be able to drop off the kids at Tai Kwando and still be there before 10. I haven't ridden this portion of T100 before.

What? You're not going to share?

Thursday is a strong maybe, and Saturday is looking good as well. How about some BCT, Hawes, or MMP Comp Loops this Saturday?
