Bikes for Kids - xmas charity
Just saw this on FB, run by a few of our local bike shops.

Looks like a great cause!
Semi hijack- My quandary is where to donate my kids 3 old bikes the day AFTER Christmas. I don't want to take them to Goodwill or Salvation army, I'd like them to go directly to kids who need them. Even someone here who needs 2 pink BMX 20"ers and a boys green 12"er w/ removable training wheels.
I think I'm not as good as I thought.

Give Joe at Sunday Cycles a call, and see if he has any recommendations. I was in there last week, and they had like 3-4 kids bikes being worked on, and when I was there at least 4 dads with their kids came in. Not sure if they were having a promo, or just coincidence. But Joe can probably point you in the right direction.

I bring my old stuff that is still usable to Handle Helper in Scottsdale, near Rage. Hours arent great, but they are a really good organization. Rage will drop stuff off there sometimes, so if hours dont work for you they might be able to help you out when they make a run.
There was also ~a month ago a big bike build and giveaway for older bikes. My friend YetiSurly (good gawd, did I just use those 2 phrases together in a sentence...) helped with that. I can try to get you details.
Toys For Tots etc also.

Nice.
Need to donate a bike or two again this year. I just caught the end of last years give away. I can attest there were some happy faced kids.
Do they also need some assemblers again this year?

Not sure. I think Exhale is taking the lead this time.

good on ya. the Chollaballs too.
gonna try to get in a build session, the crap on kids bikes is hard to work on - awful hubs and old-school bottom brackets. Would be fun to build and learn a few things, like PASCAL!

I saw this too and donated some money. I hope the kids ride the crap out of the bikes and come back craving for more...

giving this a bump. Sunday posted on their FB page about needing build helpers. Thurs, Friday and Sat. hoping i can make it for some time, but juggling my own kids and work.

My kids love to bike around the neighborhood but the bike became too small for them. So i need to replace it with new bmx bikes for kids. Thanks for the suggestions.
