Bikepack time: AZT - Happy Jack - Aug. (9)10-11

Time for another bikepacking trip. August 10-11th or 9-11th if we camp out Friday night prior to the ride. More AZT, this time the entire route is new-to-me. The GPX file along with a POI file can be found here. Look for HappyJackBP.gpx & HJ_POI.gpx

This will be about 40 miles each day completing a nice sized loop between AZ87 & Mormon Lake via AZT and a bunch of forest roads.

I'm still debating if I'll go up Friday evening or shoot up there Sat morning, I guess it depends on interest for camping out on Friday.

I want my leg to be recovered NOW to join in! Happy Jack wasn't anything super sweet when I rode it, but its a cool area. I went about 20 miles in from the 87. Jack's canyon is pretty cool to ride through. I'm quite emboldened after my nice city ride yesterday. My knee feels great on the bike. With the amount of jeep roads on this route....
Today's the day I eat bikes.

I think I might be able to swing this. At 40mi/day and a 2-3 hr drive up there, I think I'd rather go up Saturday.

    Doug,
I'm leaning more towards driving up on Sat. morning this go-round. I have to work until midnight on Thurs evening so I won't be getting out of my day job until closer to 5p on Friday. I'll pack everything up then.

So far I have 6 commits including myself, should be another great outing.

Yeah pretty much another BP101 ride, more miles though. Roughly 40 each day. So far there is one 1st timer & 2 riders returning from the first outing.
