    Bike Demo's in AZ

Since I recently broke my bike, I am in the market for a new one. Going to start saving money until I can afford a nice all mountain full suspension, hopefully early next year. With that in mind I would like to start demoing some bikes while I save to get the feel of what I want. I saw that Trek and Pivot both have demo days scheduled for Nov 16 at MMP, I plan to be there. Does anyone know of other Demo Days for other manufacturers scheduled anywhere in AZ? Are there other ways of demoing bikes, do shops let you take a ride, more than just around the parking lot?

    Edit - Running List:
Nov 2 - Niner in Sedona
    Nov 2/3 - Trek West Store/White Tanks
    Nov 5 - Niner at T100
Nov 16/17 - Trek at MMP
Nov 16/17 - Pivot at MMP

Yeti is pretty good about having demos as well during the winter down here, nothing on their site yet though for this year.

I got an email from Pivot that they will be holding a demo in November. Date and location are yet to be announced.

    Azorr,

Absolute Bikes in Sedona rents Pivots. They are also going to be selling off their current rental fleet of Pivots (5.7s at least) in the next couple of months. They maintain a list of interested persons. I put down for a large. Before selling they go over the bike thoroughly. The price is pretty good too. Low 2k.

    Bike Demo's in AZ

A lot of shops have demos/rentals. Not free, but usually put the rental cost towards the purchase price. Nice when you have it narrowed down but don't have the demo truck coming soon.

I believe that Bicycles of Phoenix has a demo program. I think the cost is $100.00 but that amount gets applied to the purchase of a bike from them (just like RPS1030 mentioned).

They're primarily a Giant dealer but have some Cannondales and I believe some Fuji's in stock.

Wow, if you demo 20 bikes you've already spent the amount it costs to buy a new bike

Doesn't cost you $hite to ride. I did Santa Cruz and Pivot demos last year.

It's not really a demo if you pay for it, it's a rental.

Yeti usually comes down between now and January although with SoMo being off limits now they seem to come less often. Used to be twice a year maybe.

Mikes Bike Chalet rents Giants for pretty cheap. I was in there this past weekend and thought the sign said something along the lines of ~$30 day, $100 week..something like that....and no idea of selection. Worth a call maybe, the $30 bucks I spent many years ago saved me thousands after I realized I hated the Reign.

Unless they apply that towards a purchase. Sounds more like layaway with benefits.

I believe Performance used to do the same thing: $XXX to try the bike out on the trails and then apply that to the price of the bike. But I'm sure they have some restrictions/limitations.

Bike Rev in Flag let me demo an SC Solo for $10 a day. I rode 2days and put 34 miles on it and dropped it off. No questions asked. Granted Flag season is coming to an end and they may be a bit outta the way. The also have Giants on hand, but not sure of the 27.5 models yet.

Yea, I am not too interested in rentals yet, may look into that when I have the cash on hand to buy but for now just looking for free opportunities to ride.

Just do it proper and buy a Santa Cruz or forever suffer regret.

Oh! Sorry about that. I was just excited because I've been wanting to demo one of the 2014 Trance bikes. I guess I'll have to wait a while longer.

Specialized will be in AZ in November. Nov. 10th at MMRP. Didn't say if it's the comp tracks or Pemberton. Looks like it's reservation required.
