BCT 33 miles & 4,000', join me Sunday

I'm going to start from Rock Springs, ride to the Big Road, turn around and ride back to the first water crossing, turn around and ride back to the big road, turn around and back to the car.

I think it'll work out to 33 miles and around 4,000' of climb.

Hoping to start around first light.

Hmmmm.....Interested. I'd be a for sure but went OTB weekend before last and landed on my knee. It still isn't happy. I'll see how the canal riding goes the rest of the week. Otherwise, I think the knee was ready for some prime time. In fact, it was doing pretty damn good. C'est la vie. You may be hearing from me.

Good idea, but I really need a front tire first. My $2 patch is bound to split at some time. Besides, the knee is probably only about $80,000. I landed on the kneecap, so it's a new type of ouch. The osteotomy is doing fine still.

haha, I only know it as 'Big Road', here is the exact spot where the BCT trail crosses Big Road.

Well north of Table Mesa, what I'm looking at for the turn around point is a spot about 1.35 miles before you get the the top of the Little Pan Loop. When you cross the first water crossing on this ride, you then have a good climb up to the ridge, then a long net descent to the big road which you cross, and soon thereafter find yourself at the top of the Pan Loop.

I'm looking to get some hill workouts that don't kill me on the rigid setup I'm riding right now, this ride is 2X the River to Ridge segment, and 2X Big Road to Ridge segment. Healthy amount of climb for this guy.

If you don't mind my asking, what pace to you ride? I was thinking of riding there Sunday too, but would hate to be an anchor.

If you are familiar with the BCT RS + LPL ride, I'd say I'll personally be riding at a pace that wold complete the said ride in 3h20m, for me a spirited pace, not slacking, not all out, good solid pace and racking up climbing feet.

Okay cool. If I get blown off by my friend I'll be there. I would assume be ready to ride by 6:00? Thanks for posting the invite.

I would love to do this ride, but I have friend who I will be taking on his first Mtn bike ride. He is a runner and wants to jump into mtn biking and is really jazzed up about going. I can't say no to guy who could turn into solid mtn biker. I have to make the jump into this sport as easy as possible. So I will be at Sonoran North Sunday morning.

    Have a great ride.

Tyson, glad to have you aboard for a no-stress ride on the BCT. 85% chance of me being 50% hung over, so this will work out fine for all of us. Gray VW Wagon.

Looks like you might have to wait 'till next year. La Salls are white and the pass is pretty snowy. So... off the the Sonoran Desert for this rat. Bring your pruning sheers to the BCT.
