    AZT Jamboree

Jamboree time is coming up - January 11. This is a really fun ride and a great party after. If you haven't done this, go sign up.

It was unusually cold last year, but still fun. SDMB provided mini-pizzas and whiskey to keep your insides warm and Chad had the fire roaring at the end to warm your outsides.

Looking forward to doing this again!

Sounds interesting ! Is the longer route about 4000 feet of climbing ? I looked at some of the strava recorded rides Strava Segment | AZT Jamboree

Some estimates of climbing are as high as 5000+.

I was looking at some GPX files recently of the AZT Jamboree and Tor De 50 in topofusion and the elevation numbers seemed odd. 12,000 ft of climbing in the Tor De 50 !?!?!?. Im surprised that the AZT Jamboree is over 6200 vert of climbing with that elevation profile.

Jamboree route is closer to 4000k of climbing, TF sometimes overestimates. Pull up the climbing analysis, there should be a wide range. The first 5-6 miles of the Jamboree route overlap the beginning of the Kentucky Camp course for those that rode it recently.

Tor de 50 is about 7500k. At least that what my legs told me.

Yeah, Tor de 50 is definitely more than the Jamboree.

Long version of the Jambo isn't as hard as PPP but there are sections that are typical AZT...fall line trails, rubly, steep. That section between mile 5 and 15 makes you work but the payoff is sweet.
Fun fun fun...wish I could go!

ok im in for this. Sorry for so many questions. What is the elevation for the base camp. I plan on camping at the end spot. Looks like 3500 feet. That could be cold but not nothing I can't handle.
