Great! Thanks for your leadership on getting this together, and your efforts from this past year aren't without appreciation either. I'm sure 09 will be another great one.

gracias senior. It's very possible I'll take you up on that, but I am trying to get more ATX people to come out this round. With some luck we'll get some of the local Bike Chicks (e.g. Bike Mojoettes, aka Girls Who Rock) to come too.

Then again, maybe it'll just be a Stag roadtrip. There's goodness to that too. We'll see.

It's only 936 miles from Nando's to Tuscon - go ahead and ask how I know.

I know it's too early to have real plans, but i'm scheduling my headlight charging so I can be ready for the the arrival-night-ride at the least.

Nandomax has his own lightset now so should be much more comfortable, and I'm going to try to make sure he doesn't need to recover from lung cancer at the same time he's riding.

Nando and I made it from his place last year, starting about 6:30am, and were on-bike with headlights for the 6pm ride in Tuscon.

    I'm just sayin' ...

( oh, and were saw like 1 cop per hour, so our speed wasn't that hight, if we can pull it like did my recent NM trip I'm betting to chop and hour or two off the top )

The official website is up and ready to go.... click here to see it. The goal of this website is to increase participation and knowledge about the rides. The information on the website will be eventually moved over to a thread on MTBR (and vice versa).

I want to see EP with a Vengence on some of that stuff.

I want to see Nando ride w/o cardio-pulmonary distress (he was recovering from some crazy chest congestion last year while descending Milagrosa).

Knowing what Lonnie will "drop" on a 4" travel bike I can't wait to see him crack a chainstay on his 5" travel bike.

    Two dumb questions...

Single speed to stupid to bring?

And probably coming down solo, that a problemo?

Would prefer it and think I can manage most of the riding seen pictures of in Tucson - Sedona.

Could rent a suspension bike in PHX for SoMa.

    SS & solo =

Plenty of stuff to ride if that's your thing. Hawes, BCT, Sedona etc all doable - even Somo.

Where do most people stay for this event? Camping? Motels? This is looking doable, especially since I have a free RT ticket with US Airways that I need to use up soon.

Camping happens. Sometimes on peoples' living rooms. I've seen a lot of volunteer hosting happen too. Hopefully when they get in from riding someone will notice - or you could post-up in the AZ forum closer to the date - and hook you up with more info.

While you are in Tucson, you are welcome to crash at my house. While on the road north, most of us do a combination of floors and camping (as bear mentioned). We got you covered, is what I am trying to say. Just come on out ready to have some fun and ride!

Thanks for the info. I'm trying to talk some NE peeps into attending (and to help split the cost of car rental, motel, etc). If not, I may take you up on that offer, azepicriderandrunner - Thanks!.

I'll post on this thread again before the rides.

Ouch Nando! I'm sorry to hear of your injury but you have plenty of time to heal before the fling! Broken bones are easy - it's when you tear soft stuff like ligaments and muscle that healing takes longer. 6 weeks and you're back... enjoy running or hiking in the mean time to keep up your fitness. Post up pics of xrays or you in a cast!

    We'll be there the 5th.

And holy shap! It's been one tough month. Every day. Working so hard to get the house and
property ready to put on the market and sort, purge, pack and clean. We're exhausted.
There hasn't even been time to ride! CrAzY!

Cars go on flat-bed haulers on the 29th.

Computers "go dark" on the 30th when the crew gets here to box it all up.

Truck gets loaded on the 31st.

We're staying behind to clean and steam-clean from the 1st through the 4th. (Actually, allocated
too much time here, but oh well.)

On a plane on the 5th and landing in Tucson!

Hire the cleaning work out.... trust me, the last thing you'll want to do after the movers leave is clean your house. Take a breather and relax. Maybe keep some bikes and the Element behind and take a leisurely drive to Tucson checking out sights along the way? Good luck on this last push and I'm looking forward to having you both in AZ!

Well, we just did that drive and it's a doozie! Anyway, the company has already paid for
the flat-bed transportation of the cars to Tucson. Also, I've already paid for the tickets for

    1. Nando. No excuses. You have plenty of rum to tide you over. Really.
    2. Nando, listen to EvilP, he knows his bid'ness.
    3. Evil's, my condolences and sympathies. I couldn't make the Last Party because the Jumps were moving *that day* to our new digs (our house sold). So do what you need to do to make happy. I'm bummed I couldn't catch up with the two of you before you leave, but now i'm recovering from flu and the last thing you need is to be taking the flu to Tuscon so I'll just have to catch up with you there in March for AZSF. PM me the address of my new crash space, eh?

So, I guess I'll be representin' the ATX too. So far I'm planning on being there.

I can't wait to meet some of you AZ boys (and girls). Sometimes a girl needs some new scenery. Not that I don't enjoy the scenery in ATX; you Ted's, Lonnie's, and Nando's.
