    AZ Roll Call

As a response to everyone (or darn near it) not being able to put Avatars to names/faces, I figured I should start a thread for it. So, post your name, a brief overview describing your self (age, location, etc.), a picture of you, and a brief overview of your bike(s).

Kid, welcome to thread-starting. Some advice...never, ever take it so seriously, otherwise you A) get roasted, and B) wind up here:

Oh, and just think of this as a kind of myspace.

mtnbykr06 - yea, we have a pretty good roll call here in the "Aloha" state.

There's not a lot of activity on the Hawaii boards, but when there is, it's good and useful information.

    Jayem -
Your pic - that is at Granite Basin, right? I rode up that trail last fall but ran outa time. Where does it go if you turn right at the gate, continue riding up then around the otherside of the mountain? Is it worth riding there? Does it come back around to the rec area? We parked in the GB rec area and rode several trails then went up that one. BTW - those are some serious waterbars!

    OK, I'll play along.

    Rodney
    34 (35 next month...HOLY COW I'M GETTIN' OLD!)

    Dean Ace
Airborne Liberator (soon to be sold)
Cheap-o Nashbar frame converted to SS
    Lemond roadie
(Soon to have an On One Inbred 29er)

Fav trail is Ranger Creek in Enumclaw, WA. 8 miles of fireroad then 15 miles of sweet, sweet singletrack through the trees.

I generally like me some endurance racing b/c I'm addicted to pain. But I found myself in a biking slump recently so I'm skipping the OP race. I actually want to start doing some Tri's.

Here's the ugly mug shot (oh and that's cyclejunkie in the background too!):

Ride because I enjoy it and it helps fight having to take more insulin shots each day. Mostly ride solo as I have no endurance and hate holding up others on the trail.

If you go right, it goes towards some trails that head around the west side of Granite Mountain. Very sandy, not much fun IMO, not a good idea in the hot summer.

If you go right, that goes to the top of trail 37, which is a fun descent to do, go down 37, then down 40 (the one in the picture), then to the lake.

But where did I come from? Well, the OHV area intersects trail 37, and there's a semi-secret way to cut over to the OHV area from within grainte basin, so yes, I make a loop out of it. I frequently start off of Iron Springs road, ride up 37, then down 37 to 40, down to the lake, then on a variety of trails, back to the OHV area, to where it intersects wtih trail 37, then back to the parking area down 37. I could show you this sometime, and it's probably posted somewhere in here under "granite basin".

I have some mountain bike pics, somewhere, I'll have to dig 'em out. They're old, like from the 90's old.

Is it gay, if Joe and I take pics of each other, next time we ride together?

    Hey all,

I'm pretty new to this site. I used to have three bikes which included the roadbikes, but have consolidated them to one.........I am riding a Giant XTC which I thoroughly enjoy!

Ok need to ride with more people to get photos. . . no action shots, just two grabs of me eating ****. The others, just look for the oversize handsome man. He (me) likes aggressive all mountain. Ill climb up anything and like it, but Ill like going back down it even more. Ill stop and hit a section over and over until I can nail it.

    Enduro Pro '06 w/ extras
SC Bullit '07 (stayed behing in Tahoe)
Kona Kikapu (stayed behing in Tahoe but would like it on the trails here)

Oh yea. . . James, 24, went to U of A for a few years, Art School in SF, Tahoe Tahoe Tahoe, then moved here for a few months. . . Then chasing the snow back to Tahoe.

If you see me on the trails here, throw a rock at me, and ask me to ride with you.

    Cheers

BigFancy here. Ride a Rocky mountain switch by day and fly by night. My hero's are HeliDave, A.P.B and Lustforboyz. Hopefully I'll be able to ride a mile someday? Still working on the flying part aswell, hopefully HeliDave can help me out there. Would realy like to get out more and lose my belly. Would also like to get a better bike helmet, this flight helmet doesn't work to well. I usualy wear a flight suit during my rides, can't get into bike shorts.Well, thats me. Nice to be on the AZ board
