AZ Photo Friday - July 26th, it's too friggin' humid

Crazy mountain bikers goofing off at Cathedral Rock.

A red velvet mite at PMP, they're everywhere!

You get the idea just from looking at the picture.

Big sky at sunset, and I just discovered my only light won't turn on!

KK, your photos are incredible. I always look forward to your postings. I hope someday we can hit Whistler again, I could only imagine what you could do with that canvas!

    Spent the week in Colorado.

Did the ride down Trail Ridge Road while visiting Rocky Mountain National Park. No mountain biking allowed, so we took a shuttle and rode the road down. Easiest 30 miles I've ever done.

Along the Legends of Superior Trail

    Name that shoe.

Ocotillo forest along Telegraph Canyon (FR4)

One of the 'more' rideable climbs, only 50% HAB.

    Thirsty?? (Trough Springs).

    Done! Time for lunch.

Finishing strong on this muggy morning.

    Nice crown.

I shipped my bike to Colorado and rode a bike park for the first time (Trestle/Winterpark). I had a lot of fun but I'm not sure I would call it mountain biking, at least compared to PMP or Flagstaff. Riding perfectly bermed trails with man made jumps made it feel more like BMX or motocross.

Road to Mount Union -- Poland Road

Saw a tarantula at about 6000 feet in elevation... kinda weird.. some views and a deer stood still long enough for me to catch it with the camera...

It does seem to take the "mountain" part out of the mountain biking equation a little bit but ya got to admit it sure is fun! I hope Snowbowl eventually gets with the program so we can have some legit machine built trails here in arizona.

Ah, yes. Did that a bunch of times back in the '80s and '90s on my road bike. Started at the visitor center on the east side then rode to the high point and turned around. Best part was passing cars all the way down. Probably not too smart -- but sure was a blast! I usually waited until after Labor Day when the traffic was lighter.
