I climbed this hill near my home in Anthem last week. I was quite excited to see my Strava time. Then I looked at my phone and saw that Strava had malfunctioned again and recorded nothing. This has happend to me too many times. If anyone has a cheap Garmin device they want to get rid of, I'm definitely interested.

Worthy repeat! Did you see those vids I posted up in the ski stoke thread Philbo? There sure has been a lot of interesting base jumping accident vids lately too, I don't think base jumping looks so inviting any longer! The vid of the two planes crashing into each other is nuts. I totally want to sky dive but unfortunately current finances won't allow. One day.

It could just be, I don't think those few inches of seat tube above the top tube really do very much. It's a 400mm long seatpost, with at least 4" down the hole.

I thought it would feel undersized at 15" but it fits great. Also liking the aluminum far better than the steel frame which was a size too big.

    I'm still out chasing stars.

ISON may have died a horrible death on Thanksgiving Day, but Comet Lovejoy is still up there as an almost naked eye object in the wee morning hours.

More stargazing was done the next cold night.

And then the next day I caught a rare full-circle sunbow.

Life is good! And someday soon I'll ride my bike again... and life will be better!

Another week without getting on the bike :-(
But I've managed to find some time to shoot some photos after work.

Taken during the fog event at the Grand Canyon last week.

Comet Lovejoy in the evening twilight. (It's a bit easier to see in the morning -- but it's too cold!)

This makes me look forward to my 3 year old daughter growing up. Although she is doing well learning to ride, her favorite toy is her soccer ball. Seems like you know how that story goes.

Lucky you to be up at the GC for the fog! That must have been quite the experience. Also.... I didn't know you could catch Lovejoy in the evening. Morning viewing is WAY too early and cold!

That wasnt me, it was some guy i was behind on pemberton. i saw something staring at me and when i caught up i had to get a picture of him and his dog Peanut. I have so many questions about his gear, primarily how does he know when peanut has to do his business?

Sky charts show that Lovejoy will be visible in the evening sky for another week or two before it gets lost in the twilight.

I'm going to try another morning shot later this week since it's higher in the sky without twilight interference.

    But it'll be c-c-c-c-cold!!

Its just north of Pioneer Road on Gavilan Peak Parkway. Its a short but steep sprint up to a radio or television tower.

    Ok,
I know that hill. So you are looking north to anthem from the "panhandle" part. I always think of riding up there, but never do.

this one started playing soccer at 5, couldnt control the ball worth a shit but from riding could take a hit better than any other kid. Now 2 yrs later she is playing club, still more physically aggressive than most girls, still catching up with ball skills.

I had a fantastic 3 days of riding over the weekend. A dirty century if you will plus 13,600' of climbing, so I took the ride day off today.

Friday afternoon at SoMo, Gila Valley trail

Saturday: Gila River Ramble Xtra Lean Version

Randy & Derek on the AZT

Leaving the AZT for some exploration

About to get our HAB on in Walnut Canyon.

Nancy took time to pose for the camera in the frigid Gila waters

Sunday: Ghost of AES' past: BCT
    Top of Antelope Creek

Arturo's first time on this section

A little chilly on the descent.

I love the occasional rock crossings

I challenge you to ride this trail and NOT smile.

Near the end of our day, but not before a dark water crossing on the Agua Fria.
I ride the crappy trails so you don't have to
