I'm not that heavy, (215), but damn if last year wasnt an expensive one.
Heres my broken list:

Race Face Middle Ring- broke a tooth and a 1/4" of metal smooth off.
Shimano Middle Ring-LX Hollowtech-lasted one ride, missed a shift and kaboom.
Bonty Maverick OSB Rim- Well I got about 4 months out of them and then tacos.
Hutch Pythons-One pair, lasted about 5 months before they shredded.

Last year was a relatively easy year on equipment for me.

I went through 2 pair of tires, though they could probably have gone a bit longer. I started the year with a worn pair of Michelin Hot S tires, and wore another pair out. When I start to spin out in turns I usually pedal through, it's time to replace the tires. Average life of a pair of tires is 500-600 miles for me. Most people seem to get more life out of their tires.

All of my other 'upgrades' in the last year were either fine tuning my position (stem, shorter fork) or functional upgrades (Avid Cable Disk Brake replaced front V's).

I've broken just about everything over the years, though. Frames, shocks, cranks, wheels, seatposts, handlebars, brake levers, chains, cassettes, rear mech.

So far, my front mech, seat post and stem haven't failed me. *knock on wood*

I broke 1 frame, 1 upper shock bolt, 1 set of rocker arms, 2 sets of shimano xt hubs, 2 crank arms (1 shimano octalink, 1 Truvativ team stylo), 1 middle ring, 1 chain, and 3 riding computers. That is just about an entire bike! Oh well the replacement parts are holding up much better.

Misery must love company, because I certainly feel better already! Me? I am 6'5", 225lbs riding a Liquid30.

In the last year I've gone from 245 to 225lbs. Besides the excess wear on drivetrains and tires that all of us Clydesdales (and gravity) will provide, I have also broken the following:

1 Liquid30 frame,
1 kevlar handlebar,
2 rear wheels,
1 casette (due now for another),
1 rear derailure hangar, and
2 XT chains (due now for another).

I know. It could be alot worse (but not if I was a 150lb jockey!).

Broken: 4 cromoly frames, 1 bottom bracket axle, 2 handlebars, lots and lots of spokes, 1 rim tacoed, 3 rims worn through the sidewall, 1 rim smashed into 3 peices that didn't form a circle when placed together, 5 rims dented and warped beyond proper repair, 4 rapidfire+ shifters, 2 rear hubs, 1 crank (rounded out the tapers), 3 chains snapped, teeth worn to little rounded nubs on 3 sets of chainrings, 3 freehub bodies, 2 stems, 3 headsets ...

Other things too, but i can't remember them all.

Oh... this wasn't all in a year.. sorry...

The good thing about broken frames is that you can generally get a warantee for free, broken other stuff and you're usually out some cash. Only thing that I've broken so far this year is a couple of spokes, I'm kinda suprised that's been all though.

In the last year and a half I've broken two rear swingarms, 2 frames, numerous spokes, tacoed to Rhynolite rims, and snapped two Easton Carbon Fiber seatposts.

Here is my tally for the last couple years
3 ISIS bottom brackets
1 Boxxer fork; sprained my ankle that time too!
2 rear derailleurs
1 Thomson seatpost
I saddle
Raceface Turbine cranks

Plus the expendables including 3-4 sets of grips, lotsa disc brake pads, a few drivetrains and cable sets, and 3-4 sets of tires

Such is the price of riding large. :D

After I gave up on XC equipment and purchased a FR HT I've only broken one seat and a seat post. Of course my bike is a b*tch to climb on, but its nice to ride instead of repair.
