There will be no more free parking at PSP. Starting April 1st they will be charging a parking fee at the area across the road from the main entrance and at the Qualla road area, probably all other parking areas on the perimeter of the park. They will be issuing tickets to all vehicles parked there without paying. The area near the entrance will eventually be used of a planned Equestrian center there.
If you ride there frequently the best deal is a annual park pass which is $33. An all park pass is available for $55 which is good if you ride York River, Holiday Lake or Douthat frequently. This also gives you 10% off on campground and cabin rentals.

There are also volunteer incentives where you could earn a free pass. This includes but is not limited to mtb trailwork days. You can also volunteer for ampetheater events, campground cleanup and other opportunities exist.
Or if you're really cheap you could ride your bike there from home!
