Hi guys,

I know the chase has a onepointfive headtube, so does that mean it could take the Sherman 7 inch, breakout plus?

any Cannondale set up for a headshock will take a 1.5 steer. The 7" fork will affect the handling, as it is designed around a 5" fork.

Do you think the Chase's Warranty would be void if the 7 inch for would be used?

I think that that frame will be built on the side of strength. Go for it.

Just get a regular breakout or firefly, they both have optional 1.5 steerers. 7-inches is OVERKILL on a hardtail, especially the chase which is designed primarily for street/dj (which takes anything from rigid to 4-5 inches) or freeride.

I'd go with a Firefly if I were you.. .adjustable from 3-5 inches. 3 for street, 3-4 for dj, 5 for freeride.

You'll kill the handling if you run 7 inches for sure, and most likely will handle like **** if you put a regular breakout on and run it at 6.

I had a 6" Slider on a 15" .243 last year, it was fun, but it made playing around and tossing the bike around alot harder and it rode like a pig sometimes. My roommate had a 13" .243 (closer geo to the Chase) with a Flick on it and it was FUN AS F**K. Very playful bike, easier to throw around and easier to progress on.

Get a Firefly with the 1.5 option and 20mm thru axle and you'll be happy.

The Flick or Firefly with the 1.5 option sounds perfect.
