I've never seen a V-Link Pro and it's not in Epinions, though it seems I've seen a reference to this bike somewhere before. Was this basically V10 components (full XTR) on the same carbon frame as the V6 team? I assume the Strata air shock is newer and this would have had the Helix Pro (like the one I swapped from the V10 to the V-Link).

I have a V10 frame and a complete V-Link 3.2 (both 1998), but I've never seen that linkage. Does that mean both of my bikes have the 'long travel' linkage and the Ebay bike has the 'short travel'?

Thanks,

Yes, this is a very nice bike. I have a first year edition of the V-Link Pro, which is all aluminum, circa 1996. The link was designed originally to get about 3" of travel with a variable rate through it's travel. If I'm not mistaken, the link was changed ever so slightly to offer a staight rate. I believe the carbon frame model has this link. It's still a 3" XC bike. Originally, in'96, V-links were outfitted with a specially built Fox air shock, but later models switched brands. The Stratos shock is correct vintage for this bike, but may, or may not have been original equipment. I just rode my V-link this afternoon, and while I'm a 29er addict now, I still really like the way the V-Link handles.
