Here's a boring question someone probably knows the answer to: what are the torque specs for alloy bolts. I didn't know which column to look at on the redmist website so I e-mailed Peter, but I thought someone here might know as well. What about bike specific bolts like the SRP alloy derailer bolt and a Vuelta alloy lockring. Also, I have been using locktite purple on my alloy bolts as reccomended by the LBS, but does anyone here have a dissenting opinion?

My second question is in regards to my portly USE 25mm to 31.6mm shim. It weighs 39g and is pretty darn long. Is it advisable to drill holes it in, cut it, or somehow lighten it. Has anyone had sucess doing this?
