Hi,
I just built up the bike after getting it second hand. Can anyone teach me how to set it up? It has a rockshox SID rear shock with a rebound dial. I use equal in the + and _ but it seems to top out on jumps.
Thanks

I'm not very familiar with SID shocks... But you can slow the rebound and add more air pressure to the negative air spring (Do rear shocks even have adjustable negative air springs?). You can probably tell that I'm the kind of guy that runs a coilover. That should help with the topping out.

OK, I just looked it up. The SID does have both positve and negative air valves. You need a schraeder pump to adjust the air pressure. The positive air valve is the one closest to the rebound knob, you put more or less air in this to make it stiffer or plusher (spring rate). You put between 100 and 250 PSI in. The negative air spring counteracts the positive air spring, so you're going to need to put more presure in this one since it is topping out. I suggest that you use a real shock pump to get better results.
