View Full Version : So, I rode up @ Gambrill today....

Still surprising amounts of snow up there. Five of use were so hard up for a ride that we just didn't care how much ice/snow there was.

The trailhead didn't look promising:

Surprisingly, since it's melting/dissolving it gave quite a bit of traction. No issues riding it at all.

The snow was kinda patchy. You'd being going along on a completely clear section and then wham! Snow and ice. It was weird.

I took these two pictures at the same spot. One's looking up and the other's looking back. The snow just started suddenly.

All in all we got about 11-12 miles in. There were a few slightly muddy sections but since 80% was snow and ice covered I didn't get very muddy. A pic of the bike post ride:

Next week will probably be a mud fest. I'm hoping for some freezing temps come the weekend!

Wow, I wonder how its going to take for all of that to completely clear up.

So, no nasty spills on the ice? That stuff will getcha right out of nowhere...well, at least at night it does. :)

Sounds like you had fun though.

Thanks for the update, Dave. Looks like I won't be going there for at least a couple more weeks.
