Hey I just started lurking on this board and it's great. Yer all sick and I feel right at home.

Just won an Ebay auction for a Haro Extreme with the elevated chain stays. The rear triangle is chromo and bolted to the 7000 series front triangle. Rear U brake(top of lower stay) frame is violet in color.

I'm wondering if anyone can help me nail down a production year, and if it's known what type fork it was designed for. It seems pretty raked out with my 80mm Judy.

BTW I'm all up in this retro krap now. Bring on the blue ano :D

That's a Mag20 pictured and the listed travel was 48mm although I dont think I owned one that got more than 45mm.

Well I came across a Paramount frame while hunting for parts to put the Extreem together. Ended up liking the Paramount a lot more than the Haro. WELL I had a dude, ever since the auction end emailing me about getting rid of the Haro. The Haro I won for $31.56
Finally after a month of his weekly emails I asked him to make me an offer for the frame/$20 headset and some blue ano parts I got for another $5.

I sold the frame, with the parts listed for $400 shipped. (to Brooklyn)

Four Hundred Dollars...

Get the black one with the LX. Exage 500 is not good.

The tangerine one! It's a 1992 model BTW. How does one keep that many NOS bikes without selling them in the past 14 years?

thanks for the quick replys! what makes the tangerine one better than the black one? apart from it being newer? all this "lx" and "Exage 500 lx" is confusing! im leaning more toward the tangerine one because ive got 3 black bikes... (and 1 red, 1 purple, 1 yellow, 1 beige and 1 white) but if the spec is that much different..... i might go for the the black one...

lol, is there much difference between Exage 500 LX and LX or will i not even notice? cos i looked the shimano ranges up for 90' 91' and 92' and noticed LX is only one model up from Exage 500 LX..

Tried it, it was a tank, and a month after I bought it, I sold it for $400 (frame only) to a dude in Brooklyn NY> So yeah, I have fond memorys! Best investment I ever made!

Rode the Haro to work today, and I was pretty impressed, handled quite nicely only problems ive had were the rim tapes were too narrow, leading to slow punctures, buckled front wheel and the stem wouldnt hold the bars initially but seems ok now, i had to stop in at a local bike on the way to work tighten the stem bolt, shop owner pissed me off royally by being really rude and sarcastic, accusing me of "butting in" while he was talking to another customer then proceded to ask me if he "could make me a cup of tea", or "lend me £10" then handing me the 12mm, little did he know we send him a lot of customers that are after a cheap second hand bike, well we wont any more!
