Decided to make some changes in my GF hardtail.

Very, very happy with the H bars. Jeff Jones is on to something here.

Seatpost was expensive but completely worth it; adds just a touch of compliance to smooth things out. Had to use a shim, but the 27.2 seatpost seems to mate well with the 31.6 frametube.

Big surprise was the Deore XT shifter/brake pods. They actually work well. Once you get used to the RR rear derailleur....

Did you REALLY think you could get away without posting a picture? ;-)

Glad you found such good upgrades for your bike.

I'm getting a Thudbuster for the Fisher, but as I'm getting the appropriate 27.2mm shim, I may as well try how much a difference a 27.2 Thomson makes already over the 31.6, despite the extra maetrial. Some say Thomson's aren't the harshest of posts, surely they don't refer to the thickest size?

Not quite done with the build yet, have to figure out the stem length on the H bar still....

Using the 27.2 Ti post in a 31.6 aluminium frame was a happy accident. I did not want to use a shim, but as Moots doesn't make anything larger than 27.2, there was no choice.

I have never used a Thudbuster, but the Moots has just the right amount of give; don't think that I would want any more on a hardtail.
