Is it near the seatpost or the headtube?
Tried a Kona Dawg today. It was a size Large (18) . Had a too small cockpit. The 19 is too tall at 33,5" for I have barely 34" ... It would be nice to try one but since I can't find any 19" around to try, I was wondering how does one measure the clearance...

Sorry if that sounds confusing. Had a long day!

Stand-over clearance is measured exactly where you would stand over the frame: with the horn of the seat touching your back.

the longer forks and suspension for a good trail bike may leave little stand over. It's a non-issue, just get a bike that has the cockpit you need. I've a 31" inseam on a large Bullit with zero S-O; I and my fellow riders have no problems it's rare you have to stand over the bike, we find no problems. Jim

Of course it is a non issue, as long as there is SOME standover room! ouch that would hurt :D

personally I ride and don't stand over my bike. Big FR bikes with 7" + forks = (for the most part) no stand over. it's a non-issue. I work with the top tube snuggly against my privates if I stand over the bike, but I find standing is detrimental to riding :p

The point is, a Dawg is a seriously excellent trail bike; standover shouldn't be a purchase show stopper.
