View Full Version : 2" of rain = 1 new Knolly
JimC. 01-24-2005, 10:47 AM So K'Endo came over to may place and we immediately opened a beer to get started.
It's pouring here again today, the 'shore is closed, and for the first time, I really don't want to get the bike dirty.
I'da been up the creek without Ken, he taught me how to build wheels, and the whole bike. We Only had to use the sledge a few times, the pipe wrench 1x, and the arc welder a little to correct some minor things. ;)
While I can't wait to get on this, almost 10 months off a big bike has me a tad apprehensive about going too fast or too big.

pfunk 01-24-2005, 10:58 AM I know it's been said before, but that frame is a thing of beauty. Knolly rocks.
Congrats Jim, enjoy. After all, it is the last bike you'll ever need ;)
Castle 01-24-2005, 11:18 AM Can I see a side shot of the frame with the wheels on the ground? please?!?
get a lookee see at the geo
that's a sick sick build!
congrats and have fun on that thing man! get up some ride shots!!
If those things weren't so pricey I'd def. consider one.

006_007 01-24-2005, 11:24 AM Nice work Jim (and Ken!)
Only thing you might wanna do is route the shifter cable on the underside of the linkage (VS the side in shots 2 and 4) and do the same for the brake cable if it is not already under the silver linkage.
Lemme know if you want photos for a better description.

Nice bike K'Endo, but I think I prefer the "Candy Apple Red" of Jim's over your's :D BTW what happened to the Kenda tires and other saddle from the pics of the bike in the Canadian bike forum?
Jim, once agin man very lovely bike. I was looking over a BLUR that a guy has and the paint job and thought it was a very good job, but loking at you photos the frame and paint jobs looks fantastic - and we all know photos never catch the real beauty fo such stuff,so in person it must really be a beaut! Don't understand why SC hides the welding on the Blurs with so much paint, either that or the grind or fill the welds - me I prefer to see the welds, gives a better idea of their quality.
CraigH 01-24-2005, 05:40 PM BTW what happened to the Kenda tires and other saddle from the pics of the bike in the Canadian bike forum?
That is 006_007's bike. K'endo's is the same colour. There are couple of pics of K'endo's bike in this thread.

Errr, the photo over there is Trevor's (006_007) bike. Same colours, but he has Maguras and an 888 where I have Hopes and a Super T, amongst a few other diffs.

JimC. 01-25-2005, 08:13 AM Michelin DH24's, sticky/soft but I get a year out of them. I run normal tubes in tehm, only had 1 flat in about 3 years in sharp shale rock at Whizzler. Hey I might need to tap youse for some Blood and maybe brake pads that Tim shot down to you, absolutely zero rush though.
Cheers, Jim

LOL.... some fine Granville would taste great right about now. So what is open up there?
CraigH 01-25-2005, 12:56 PM According to the DNV, Fromme is still closed.
http://www.dnv.org/
"The District has closed a number of trails. These include Hastings Creek, Inter River Dyke, Lynn Canyon Park (Lynn Canyon Café and the Ecology Centre remain open) and Fromme Mountain."
Apparently there are signs at all of the entrances to Fromme.
Most trails on Seymour are open though.
