I am comparing these bikes because they can be light if you built it right. They are design to be all around trail bike, a bike that you can pedal up the hill and enjoy a great downhill ride; that’s what I want. I will be using this bike to be my downhill bike and my all around trail bike as well. I do have a hard tail. moff_quigley 02-25-2004, 08:12 PM I am in the market for a long travel bike. Let’s hear from you guys that owns any of these bikes Thanks If I had the cash...I'd love to have an Inferno especially with Foes Curnutt fork that has yet to be released (I think). I have no idea what I'd need 7" F&R for, but I drool over the pics of that setup in MBA. Even though I have a SC...I'd wait probably another model year (I know SC doesn't have model years) before picking up a VPFree. The IH is great bang for the buck. Innocent Bystander 02-26-2004, 09:47 AM The VP Free will be a heavy bugger I am guessing. I hear frame weight alone will be in the 10 pound range. Although, SC has tested the crap out of that frame, and I would feel confident that it will be tough as nails from day one. The Inferno is the lightest of the group you just mentioned. It sounds like a 7" travel trail bike more than a 7" travel freerider. The other 2 bikes are freeriders... that I am sure could be built up in the 35 pound area, maybe lighter. Others to consider for that purpose have to be the SC Bullit (7"), Ventana El Chamuco (6") and the Yeti AS-X (7.5"). Many guys use these frames as all day trail bikes. |
