I've got a 02 stinky frame that Im going to build up. Its a medium 18inch, and I want to know if a 8 inch steer tube will fit with enought room for atleast one spacer. I can't find the answer on kona.dk, so I need someone to meausure it up.
Thanks
Yes, as long as you keep the stack height and stem height under 80mm. The head tube length is at 120mm. I have the same bike with 8" steer tube. I run a Cane Creek C2 headset with a planet-X goliath stem and handlebar. I have to use 8.5mm of spacers to fill the space.
What are you planning on using along the lines of stem and headset?

I have a small Stinky and have an 8.5" steerer tube on my Super T. I'm running about 2 inches of spacers on my bike (some under and over the top crown) so even with your frame size, I would imagine that you'll be fine with an 8" steerer tube. I just measured my headtube and headset and it was about 6 inches. If you need to know more info., email Joe at Kona (tech at kona dot com). He is really good about getting back to folks quickly.

Im puting on a 03 Z1 ETA, 130mm. I'll probably slap on a Thomson stem and most likely a king head set when my budget allows for it. My goal is to get this bike complete by spring, around April. Slowly but surely, piece by piece.
Thanks guys for the great information!!!
42.5mm stem height +
31.4mm headset stack height +
120mm head tube height =
193.9mm killer set up!!!!
That leaves you with 11.1mm of spacers to use if you round 8" of steer tube to 205mm.
Good luck and hopefully your bike will come to gether great before the season starts.

I do believe a Medium is 17", and Large is 18". I don't know if it makes a difference w/ steer tube length. If it does, you may want to qualify the feedback you got on lengths.
