Hey there. My Mooto X is almost finished. I am waiting for a few last parts (stem, spacers, non deraillieur hanger dropout). It's a great looking bike. I am waiting for the stem so it will fit well to go riding. I will race it at the 24 hrs of the Old Pueblo. Thanks to this board and the SS board for all the help. See below post for a couple more pictures.

Nice work, very clean and simple. I like the subdued color scheme, with the mango bits for a little flair!

Great bike, should ride like a dream.

Oh man that's nice! It's a real work of art. I agree with donkey, the mango parts in the color scheme look fantastic.

Enjoy!

The accessories are gold, they only look mango in the pictures. I'll have to get a picture on Friday as I am working until then.

I have been looking at this frameset. Will you post your thoughts on the ride once you get some time. I am curious if the softtail design will take the edge off of my ride like I am looking for.

That's one amazing ride!!

What is the theory behind the way you put those handlebars??

I just threw the bars on a old stem just to hold them. I have not adjusted them. I am waiting on the right sized stem to come in to really set it up.

your bike is like a vision from one of my dreams!
you will certainly ring in the new year with style, class and tons of long lasting fun.
i am curious about a couple things:

•are you running a 20" frame because you have a long torso? i ask this because you aren't running as much post as i like to...
•what length is the Moots stem that you are waiting for?
•do you know if the WB 1.0 would handle as well with the geometry?
•more info on those wheels... the rims look great.
•do you know the approximate weight? seems pretty darn light based on the build. light but also super sturdy.

okay, back to dreaming!

Nathan,

go to boonerings.com, then click on "about us", you'll see some info, click on "titanium chainrings" in the text. that will take you to the main page for the ti chainring/cog stuff. click on order and you'll see the pricing.

i'd give them a call so you can chat with bruce and see how long it'll take them to make the stuff you order.

cheers!

I do have a long torso. Plus I like a longer toptube and this one was 24.25 in length (pretty close to my last rides). I asked my bike fitter before I purchased the frame and he said to go with the 20" (based on my previous fitting info). The stem will be a 130 by 10. I had to go longer than I usually do because of the H-Bar. I think Moots says you can use a 80-100mm fork with the frame but I went with an 80mm because I didn't want the front end to be too high with the already higher 29er wheels on there. Plus I think 80mm is enough for my riding style. The wheels were built by Dave Thomas at Speeddream wheels. They are Chris King gold SS hubs laced to Velocity Dyad black disc only rims. The have a spoke similar to the Sapim C-Xray spoke with a bladed center and regular circular pattern at the ends(you can see this in the image with the spokes). Dave weighed it before I got it. They weigh. front: 851 gr. Rear: 1026gr. Liners and tubeless rim strip add 70 gr. I think that is pretty light for a 29er wheelset. But Speeddream wheels are not cheap either (although I have had a set on my road bike for 4 yrs without touching them). But I think he builds a great wheel that will last (pay up front or pay later right?)
