Calling for mid 50’s! I live on the outskirts of Baltimore.

Thanks!

It's going to be a mud-fest in all of the normal places (Avalon, Schaeffer etc) and I'll bet that
Gambrill still has a ton of snow.

I'm going to be doing another road ride :(

Most trails will undoubtedly be soaked. Head up to the Farm Show complex in Harrisburg PA and watch the biggest trials comp in the US. It starts at 10AM. Or go on Sunday and watch the moto guys.

Word on the MORE mailing list is that Richmond area is pretty dry and Poor Farm is OK. But please stay off the Balto. area trails, you'll only be doing damage.

Or, grab a few friends, hike on out and do a little trail maint. - gets you out in the woods and earns you some good karma points.

Yeah, I went out last weekend and the trails were pretty much crusted over with ice/snow. No mud and very slow going to say the least.

I’m somewhat new to this region and was hoping to find some rocky areas that drain exceptionally well.

Let me know if you have any suggestions.

Thanks!

Problem is, most of the rocky sections are up higher like the Shed, Gamrbil, etc. and it's 10-15 degrees cooler. The MORE trail liaison drove through the park today and all the trails are still covered in several inches of snow and any parts that have been packed down are pure ice.

Then all the not so rocky stuff is lower and it's all just beginning the thawing process. So all those trails are gonna be muddy as hell, at least for probably another 2 weeks.

RiderX mentioned Richmond is having good luck with their trails and that's because instead of snow, they usually get rain and the temps have been nicer to them. At only a 90 minute ride down to Richmond and even less to Poor Farm, that seems like the best place to ride for now.

I know in a couple of weeks I'm heading down to Richmond to ride Buttermilk, gotta learn it for the Richmond Xterra!

Lodi is in pretty good shape to boot. Quantico should be also, as their trails have decent slope and drainage. I hope to get out to Lodi Sat afternoon and maybe Poor Farm Sunday.

Checking in from FairHill where it is a total mess. Road the fireroads there yesterday and there was plenty ice and very wet. Trails will be bad here for a while. Also in close by DE the White Clay and Middle Run areas are in thes same condition. Looks like another road riding weekend...

DC is pulling through as usual. All the wind that whips between the buildings and around the city has everything all dryed out. Time for an urban assult.

Only pic from yesterday that has some dirt in it
