I like the gun metal grey. Show us some pics when it's built up! What are the plans??

Mine, too. Iron Glimmer, as I recall. I'll post my Tracer pics soon. I'm biased, of course, but I think it looks pretty good. That grey is sweet - understated and durable.

stooopid me ... i seemed to have stripped the bottom-bracket threading and can't get it re-threaded without ... uh ... welding. So this frame is toast. If anyone wants it... it's yours ... i'll probably post a classifieds listing about it soon. Thinking $200 ... my loss, your gain.

Mike,
Bummer about the BB. I know how it feels to lose a Tracer. You can probably still trade in that frame and get a 5.5 or Spyder at cost. It will save you a lot more than $200.

Are you sure you can't re-do the threads without having to reweld ? Some times there's enough material to work things out.

But if it's really not possible, that really sucks for you.

I hope things turn out fine in the end

JB weld might be able to save it. Er at least make it so the BB wont ever come out too ;)
Or try the trade in thing or get it re-welded by Intense.

I thought for sure that you could re-tap the threads on a BB. You should exhaust all possibilities and sources until you find out for sure.

Otherwise, it's the perfect story to tell a wife/girlfriend to justify a new frame;)

"Honey, I cracked the weld at the downspout/Flux Capacitor junction and have to buy a new frame:D

That's a sad, sad story. Between the EBB on the Jericho and now this, I'd say let the LBS do the BB work for a while, huh?:madman:

Is there no way to fix it? Still got the frame?
