Can some one give me some pointers to trails in Tassie!
I'll be visiting my folks in Hillwood (Just up from Launceston) for a month. I haven't ridden back home since errr 199 err..5!
I remember some good trails near the gorge, an awesome flowy DH near Mt Arthur and a race I did in Hobart... but could never find them again and now got a sweet Turner 5spot just itching for some action!
Help much appreciated.
Rich
I recall seeing in a current or just previous mag that Trevallyn (or some name like that) was one of the best spots to ride in Tassie. This is a suburb of Lonny I think.

I haven't done too much around Launceston, but I have done a bit of riding arounf Trevallyn. Great fun, and would stretch the legs of the 'spot. IMO though, it isn't the best riding in tassie. Whoever wrote that really needs to see the real trails :D
Check some of the local bike shops in town, they have some serious knowledge of the trails around the place.
If you're heading down south, contact Trevor!, I'm sure he could sort you out, and if you're going to hit the NW Coast, I'd be happy to show you a few beauties. There are a few tassie related posts in the Aussie boards, be sure to check them out.
Cheers, Dave.

I like travallin, as there a bit of everything and you can make it as long or as short as you like. also just 10 minutes from town.
theres also underwood on the way north to lillydale.
hobart:
belbins road, short easy and fun
risdon vale
errr the mountain
just ride to some trees and you'll probably find somewhere to go...

Most of the Mt Wellington trails that you are allowed to ride are covered on that site, although some of the directions may be a bit confusing - ie: the "Luge" track.
If you are thinking of riding the mountain it's best to get a Wellington Park Bike map.

Wow, I'd never seen pedalbite.com up until now.... good stuff!! :D
Some of those trail reviews are a bit second hand, but at least it gets them out there a bit.
