View Full Version : So it's like... My Birthday!
CulBaire 11-23-2004, 12:59 AM So it's like... My Birthday! Well tomorrow anyways (24/11), and I though if Dave gets a topic, then I want one too! So ya, it's my brithday again, I am 21 finally so send me all you money and alcomohols.lol j/k
For those that care, I went out last weekend to celebrate as the Kona 24hr is on this weekend, saw a cool cover band, drank lots, danced etc... and just generally made a fool of myself as I dont get out much- I did get into a bit of trouble with the missus though for letting my hair down a little too much with another lady    Ok I wasn't all that naughty, and it was only a minor relationship offence :p
So anyways I got a few pressies from the family party on Sunday- The missus gave me a new Watch (two tone gold/silver looks cool), and U2's new album, I have ten of their albums now, 3 of their DVD's, so I am a huge fan! I also got quiet abit of cashola and advice for my trip Canada which is getting closer...
No real bike stuff, but I might end up with a Titus RacerX or Santa Cruz Blur frame by the end of the week, as money burns huge holes in my pockets :p I have however got my bike closer to being finished- Kenda Karma's are on the way... check out www.projectx-cul.com (http://www.projectx-cul.com) for the latest photo's :)

Trevor! 11-23-2004, 12:21 PM Hey Aaron, Happy 21st man, hope you have a good week and it will be interesting if you end up with a new fully at the end of the week.
I turned 21 earlier in the year - I felt old turning 21, but as they say age is merely a number and nothing more.
Good to hear your a U2 fan. They are due to come next year I think. I am going to go both the Melbourne and Sydney shows - I just cant resist going to 2 or so concerts.

and here I am in envy of all these mtbr veterans with their uber-bikes and huge incomes...and they're the same age as me ?!
happy birthday dude, I look forward to seeing your finished project.
Started on a project of my own, inspired in part by your incredibly PRACTICAL project brief:
hardtail, coil/oil fork, no carbon components, hydraulic discs, must be convertible from XC racer to heavy (ish) duty trail bike with a change of tyres and handlebars only (IE tough rims, one wheelset only). Sub 22lbs in normal XC race form, weight irrelevant in fun bike form.
I can do it on paper for $3500au - we'll see how it turns out !

Sounds like you had fun some fun anyway :D It's great to see that you're thinking about a new project already..... I've loved following the progression of your Cove build.
I'm sure ProjectX-cul has inspired many riders.... I've got a fair few ideas from you thats for sure...
Hope you have a great year.
Cheers, Dave.

I love U2, I think I am a big fan of is basicly how they re-invent themselfs as a band, and their style of music with every album... God I wish I was kicking around in the Zoo TV era though, Them concerts look cool (especially the indoor tour)...
Others good to hear I am inspiring people, to be honest I was unsure people really cared, but it's nice to know that I am aiding some... It's also cool when people come upto you at a race meet and start asking questions :-)
