How can someone with such good bike karma have such bad luck? Best wishes on a speedy recovery

From NSMB.com:

Just got off the mountain...DNV FireDepartment, and Knowel Buckley on a stretcher in tow... he just got body slammed big time on Upper Oil Can...Left knee completely seperated and probably his shoulder is F.U.C.T, as he put it.
Just want to thank the DNVFD...paramedics and Search and Rescue that all showed up...as well as the riders...Heather, Mike, Alrich...and 2others[sorry I didn't get your names] that were totally prepared...made fire, had space blankets, tylenols to keep the swelling down...etc Wow props to ya. Hopefully he makes a quick recovery and is back making bikes soon.
Learned a lesson tho...be prepared. A minor injury can turn really bad if the person goes into shock so you have to keep legs elevated and the body warm...I'm going to get a first aidkit for my pack...you never know. http://bb.nsmb.com/newforum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=49961

Bummed to hear that Noel is going to have so much time figuring out what new frame to build next year.
Would I say he luck is bad....no. The guy probably rides more than 95% of the average bikers on this site and probably rides better than 99%. Bad luck no. Living the dream in my eyes.
Heal up fast otherwise you'll have time to realize that your getting old.

Yeah, about two years ago he seriously broke his arm. Took over 2 years to heal.

I went to see him yesterday, unfortunately he was still recovering from surgery earlier in the morning. Will be stopping by to see him today.

Damn, I hated hearin' bout Noel getting banged up. You paid yer dues already - this is just wrong! Hope you're not in too much pain and the recovery is a speedy one.

All the best,
Mike

Just got back from the hospital,

Noel is in amazingly good spirits, has a good supply of chocolate goods and mens magazines, and claims to be feeling relatively small amounts of pain even though he is not currently taking any sort of pain medication. He even plans to be working on the bikes again by Wed!

He was even on his feet as I left (with the aid of crutches).

We will probably be hearing from the man himself in the next few days possibly with some spy photos.........
