1. Can someone give me the history on Homegrowns relative to when they where"Yetl" produced?

2. Is there some location where I can use a serial number from my homegrown to find out what year it was made?

3. Anyone got a Schwinn Homegrown Factory with disc tabs on the seat stays, 19inch?

Homegrowns were started in 1995 if I remember correctly. They were always made in the good 'ol USA. I believe only the 'Factory' homegrowns were made at/by Yeti.
I have owned a 1996 Homegrown Factory (bassboat blue) and after a warranty replacement I recieved a 2000 Homegrown Factory with the disc tabs on the chainstay.(old school) the seat tube has a badge that says 'mtn. bike race department', Handmade in Colorado USA.

I have a circa 1995 Schwinn s[95]5 hardtail frame. Pretty nicely built frame. I noticed it also had the 'Made in Colorado USA' lettering on the seattube decal.

However it was Schwinn that owned Yeti during that era... I think Schwinn was using Yeti resources to build its higher end bikes (like the Homegrown and Straight 4/6/8). Anyone have any more info on these bikes.

The buyout is mentioned on the Yeti page at http://www.yeticycles.com/5_tribe/tribe_history.html
