I was looking for a full suspension frame less ttan $450 that would be good for a mix of downhill, jumps, and some xc. It looks like the only frame sold alone thats in my price range is the Ibex Ignition. Is this frame worth the $300 after shipping? Are there any specialized frames sold as frames + rear shock?

$450 can be a little limiting for a full suspension frame. Sometimes its not worth picking up any ol' frame because it happens to fall into your budget. For FS sometimes saving that little extra is a wiser move in my opinion.

For what you describe $450 would probably get you a hardtail and a hardtail is a do all bike, and can sometimes be better for jumping etc.

If you are really set on the FS bikes check out the KHS frame Jenson sell here. (http://www.jensonusa.com/store/product.aspx?i=FR703B00) I don't know much abut the bike but KHS are reasonable bikes.

Another option is the ebay or MTBR classified option - Many pick up killer deals on frames!

You can get a Kona Kikapu frame for $300 w/o the shock from a Kona dealer. then same a little more and find a good shock to throw on there and you're set. You get a sweet frame for under $500.

Look on Ebay and in the classifieds for a used frame.

I know of a guy willing to sell a Balfa Belair frame for around $500 or so and that's a frame that can handle some light dh using a 5" fork up front, is built strong to handle jumps, and it can definitely handle some XC/Trail riding.

I haven't looked at the Ibex, but I will hazard a guess that a used 2002 Belair would be a better deal for you.

How much is the dawg frame? I like the kikapu, but the frame looks a bit to lean. Sure it's light, but I'm no pansy, i can pedal a little heavier bike up the hill if it is bulletproof like the dawg.

$900

Konas are overbuilt bikes, unless you're doing 4 foot drops I would think a Kikapu would do fine.

Look at the Kikapu and Dawg Primo to see the frame costs, that is without a rear shock.

Found a seller on eBay that had the frame and negotiatied outside eBay, it was a bike shop selling excess inventory.

Stay away from the "cheap" stuff, believe me I've been there. You can pay less know and end up paying a lot more later. Save some more $$$ and get something that you really like, you won't regret it!

I got last years Weyless 67 on clearance for $600. Far and away the best deal I could fins on a frame with 6 inches of travel. No complaints either, the thing is a blast.
