View Full Version : POLL: Interested in Haro Forum???
J-mizzle 11-01-2004, 11:09 PM Anyone interested in trying to get a Dedicated Haro forum, or one joint with another brand.
I have seen any people such as myself talk of their haro bikes and it might be nice to have a place to discuss them.

meat tooth paste 11-01-2004, 11:34 PM If Ibex got their own forum, I don't why Haro can't. But Ibex does pay for advertising on mtbr.com so I wouldn't be surprise if mtbr.com gave them a forum as a return favor back scratch.

I just wonder how many people with 03 extreme models have had the weld in the center of the swimgarm break?

The best upgrade on my x2 is the fox vanilla fork. How do you ride yours, drops, trails, ect? I've also had my rear shock blow. My son has a v24 and it's tough as nails.
StandAblaze 11-02-2004, 08:02 PM ok, heres a pic of my custom haro! its value is close to 4 grand. I have just been waiting for the frame to break, but i just keeps going! and i thrash it pretty good to.

ya the ibex forum is sort of a waste. there are so few posts there. GT and a few others are not very popular either. Maybe we could group a few smaller brands together though. They already did this with the "canadian bikes" Norco, Devinci, RM... I just don't think haro is that popular, but i could be wrong.
BMRisko 11-02-2004, 09:14 PM Looks nice! How did you go about modifying the frame for more travel?
StandAblaze 11-02-2004, 10:12 PM i grinded this pointless piece off the rear triangle, and had a much sronger sleeker piec welded on, any way, i can fit a much longer shock in the frame now!

Would you mind taking a pic when you get a chance?

Think they could have copied the bullit any more?
XC Joe 11-03-2004, 05:36 AM The Haro Vector V4 was my first "real" bike back in 96ish. I was totally in the love with the thing, and only sold it because I outgrew it. If I could find a cheap 19 or 20" Vector frame I'd scoop it up in a minute.
Heck yeah, I just bought my second Haro in 2 years (2000 Werks SSX single speed and now a 2001 XCS).

Looks good. I guess it could have been just a bad weld. They sent me a new swingarm so it's all good right now. Time will tell.
displacedtexan38 11-03-2004, 08:36 PM I just got my first real bike a couple of months back...
A Haro V2, all I could afford, plus I had to get the wife a bike (a V1 for cruising pavement/smooth trails. She says her thing is more like "hill biking") and get a rack... money adds up quick for a carpenter...
This page has been invaluable, I have learned a lot from it, and would love to see a forum dedicated to my beloved Haro...
Hopefully soon a built up Haro...
ibexbikes 11-14-2004, 08:43 AM ya the ibex forum is sort of a waste. there are so few posts there.
The IBEX forum has only been running for 2 months. It may not mean anything to Haro fans, but IBEX owners and those considering buying one of our bikes are very much appreciative of the new forum. I have heard from quite a few folks regarding this, including a lot of people who are reading it but not necessarily posting there.
If you guys are serious about getting a Haro forum, then trying to tear down the IBEX one does not help your cause. How much weight will your request for a new forum carry if you go in saying "small brand forums suck, but we want you to start another for Haro!"?
BTW, the IBEX forum was initiated by MTBR members. The company only got involved in promoting that cause after several IBEX riders had written to MTBR regarding this (and cc'd us, in some cases).
saviorself 01-01-2005, 07:17 AM Think they could have copied the bullit any more?
Whever you people see a single pivot frame you refer to it as a "bullit clone"
Stop
the bullit was not the first single pivot bike and has never been the only single pivot bike
Chewieez 01-04-2005, 05:53 AM Yes I think we need a Haro Forum... or atleast share one with some other companies.
I just purchased a 04 Werx XLS frame and will be building it up in the next few months. I'd love a forum!! Seems to me haro bikes are very sturdy and light and becoming more and more respected.
