Curious if any South Jersey riders are out there. If so is anyone riding anything half decent? I travel mainly to Deleware and MD for most of my rides, but with the crappy weather lately I've been staying close to home with Mantua Park and GCC. Not exactly prime single track but it will work until the weather warms a little and the ground dries out. Can anyone recommend anywhere else preferably within an hour drive of Philly? or has anyone been to Brandywine of Fair Hills lately and knows what trail conditions are like?

You can always try Pennypack park in NE Phila., the poconos and wharton state park has some good fire trails as well as other areas.

What about Wisahickon? I was there last sunday, the trail conditions were OK at best.. but it's gonna rain again saturday..so it will be sloppy again.. this weather has been really bad, Wisahickon usually dries/drains pretty fast , but lately the ground has been frozen, and saturated, I know that Fair Hills, and Brandywine do not dry nearly as fast as Wisahickon.. so i could imagine that its pretty sloppy and possibly over grown if ppl have'nt been on it lately.. drivin me nuts..i go to the college also.. that place never dries.. i could only imagine what it has been like there..DAM WEATHER

I went down to Fairhill last weekend. I took my dog and left the bike home. The trails were definitely too wet to ride. I haven't been to Middle Run in a while, but the trail conditions there are usually about the same as Fairhill. I would even expect GCC to be pretty wet right now.

Clayton park might be an option. It seems to dry better than most. I haven't been there since Christmas though, so I don't know what the current conditions are really like.

I don't ride in the Wiss, but I hear that it dries well too. I'm gonna ride over there one of these days. Just gotta buy a permit first.

I hope to sneak in a road ride tomorrow - if the evil gods that have conspired to keep me off the bike lately will just show a little mercy...

I stopped by Clayton on Thursday afternoon 2/19, and the trails were rideable. I haven't ridden it lately, but a couple of guys in the parking lot said it wasn't bad.

I still call it Mantua Park but I guess technicaly it's Cerres Park now. Anyhow I rode there today and it was pretty good. I would say it was 90% dry, but there were some spots full of that deep, dark goo that probably won't dry out until May sometime. This is only a couple miles from GCC and is always muddier. So if it was ridable here I have to think the college is OK. If you never rode here it is worth checking out. Nothing spectacular but a little more technical than GCC.

Going to try GCC tomorrow morning. I live in deptford. but have never rode at GCC. Last year spoke with a guy who rides Mantua, he gave me his email, but I lost it. Going to check mantua soon. Usually ride wissihiccon, there by 8am, home by 12:30. If I have the time will try to make it to some other spots, clayton park near trenton(one of the guys I ride with is from hopewell) Chimney rock, round valley, allaire and sourlands park.
