Yo, I head up the cycling club at Roger Williams just down the road not many races round here, you should try up in mass. if you've got a place to put one on though, we will help get it going.
Cheers,

where was the mtb club when i was at rwu? at least there was decent stuff to ride on camus... lots of walls to drop, stairs by stonewall are fun too... always was pissed there was no racing, and i was never too fond on lincoln woods.

Just got it rollin' this semester, it's not even full op yet, but it's a start. The urban is decent on campus would be tight if there were better stairs but can't complain, anyways though as far as the race scene goes Rhode Island got pretty well screwed on that, would be tight if there was some downhill out this end of the state. I don't know much 'bout the area could you tell me what's up with lincoln woods, do you know any places to DH round here.
Keep the rubber side down,

Thats sweet you got a club going up there. i transferred out in 2002. as far as riding on campus, try the run behind cedar, it used to be ok, the only " downhill" ish run on campus you can drop those little walls by the building at speed too, and to finish it theres that stream section you can rip through by willow.

as for lincoln woods.
check this site out, it has a map but it also lists some other ares to go http://www.bikerag.com/index2.htm

its out by providence place, you have to take 95 to 146, then its one of the first few exits, there are signs as i remember. luckily for you, I used to see guys w/ dh freeride gear there all the time. ( i ride xc and race, but i love that stuff too.) there are some nice rollers, some relatively steep dh ( for RI) the only problem with l.w. is the trails dont connect all that well, you can be on one for liek 500 feet then it comes back out to the road. all the entrances are numbered, but there are like 50 of them. look at the review for it on this site. its by far the closest spot in terms of anything fun (unless you want to ride on woodchips at colt state.

I went to arcadia once, its like an hour away, and i didnt like it at all. granted i only rode a few miles there, but it was retarded, flat, and just like random rock gardens, not even fun ones, just like jagged energy/speed/flow sucking rock gardens. and i dont suck either. so in my opinion lincoln woods is the way to go. try it out, follow the route listed in the review on this site, and good luck, way to go getting something going up there too, it was needed.
