I have an original 2001 I'drive Team. I have rebuilt the Fox rear shock once and will likely need another rebuild soon. I was wondering if anyone had tried an aftermarket stable platform shock, and, if so, how did it perform. Also, does anyone know the Eye to Eye and stroke measurements for this shock.
Thanks.

Stock shock size is 6.5" eye-to-eye & 1.5" shock travel (taken from a previous post). As far as trying a Stable platform shock, I haven't had the time or money to try it yet. I was thinking about doing the same to mine though; I'm running a SID dual air. I was looking at the new Magura air shock personally. Let me know what you find out, or your thoughts if you try it.
Have fun

I pick up my new Fox RP3 today. I am building up my new GT i-drive Team frame that I got from greenfish adventure sprots. I found two cracks in my old i-drive race. GT want warrent my frame and I cant aford the big bucks for an Intence spider so I went with the I-Drive Team. Any way, when I get it together and ride I will let you know how it is.

I spoke with a GT Tech at the downhill race at Mt. Creek this summer and he advised me to stay away from any sort of stable platform shock. Apparently, it does not allow the i-drive to do its thing properly. Not a lot aftermarket options w/o stable platform type technology so I went with the stratos. It's heavy but it is a huge improvement over the fox air that was stock on the bike. Combined with a Marz Marathon S it is a totally different bike.

Check out www.pushindustries.com for their platform upgrade. Call Darren directly. He will be brutally honest as to wether the upgrade is worthwhile on that design or not.

I recently had my float r pushed and it made a world of difference I get zero bob on climbs yet it sticks to the ground like glue.... Plush on downhills ....it do'snt seem to cause any negitives. It made me fall in love with my old xcr1000 again I was going to get a new titus racer x 100 but now I think I will stick with my GT until it breaks beyond repair

But I had a friend replace the shock in a 2003 Ruckus I drive. Vanilla RC(very nice shock) with a Progressive 5th Element and was blown away by the difference in performance.
This guy has ridden for years on all types of bikes and competitively and couldn't believe the transformation. He'd ridden 5th elements on other bikes too.
Bike felt more solid under power and tracked better.
