I'm heading to Houston from Phoenix to visit a buddy for Thanksgiving and we are planning to do some riding there and also over in Austin. I have a Titus Motolite fully and a Voodoo Bizango hardtail. Any suggestions on which to bring? Also please let me know of any "can't miss" trails in either place.
Thanks!

Most of the trails in the Houston area are twisty rooty single track with short and relatively steep ups and downs. There is not a climb in Houston with more than 50ft elevation gain (and 50ft may be too much). I'm not sure what part of Houston you will be in, but there really are only two trail area's in Houston...Memorial Park (7-8 miles of trails in a centrally located park) and the Ant Hills (a there and back trail which follows the bayou). I think there are a few others in the suburbs.
I don't ride much in Austin, but weather permitting (i.e. if its dry and open) there are some good trails.
Located between Houston and Austin is Rocky Hill Ranch, which is my personal favorite in the area. Good trail network, with a saloon at the trailhead with cheap beer and killer burgers.
I prefer full suspension as a personal preference (I ride a Foes FXR), but its not mandatory in the Houston area. Austin has more rocks and ledges which benefits the fully.
