Hi - I need some advice from Kona Dawg owners regarding what size Dawg they ride.

I'm 6'2'', with a 34" inseam, and am stuck between the 19 and 20" models. TT lengths are 23.9 and 24.4" each.

I currently ride a Bontrager Race with a 23.3" TT. I have a Race Face extended seat post on it, because I like a longer top tube/ more stretch.

What size Kona Dawg are you riding, and how tall are you?

Thanks for any and all help.

-Darren

Hey, I ride a 19". I am 6'1" with a 34" inseam. I have a lot of seat tube sticking up, but the 20" just didn't feel right. I have been riding it for over 1yr now and still it.

I'm the same height (6'3") and inseam (34") and ride the 19" Dawg. I did swap out the stem to a 120mm and that made it ride so much better. I've been riding it for 6 months now and it feels good. Recently I noticed that the seatpost was bending, so I ordered a Thomspon. I weigh in at 215lbs and do aggressive XC and moderate FR (not much over 6' drops) and DH. Now that I've ridden the bike for a few months, I think my style of riding requires a little more travel (5"-6") so I'm starting to look at the Coiler, Stinky, Banshee Chaparral. But, for a "all-mountain" bike the Dawg has been awesome. BETD makes aftermarket long travel plates for the rear, increasing travel from 4" to 5"-6" adjustable, you would also need to upgrade the fork to balance it out, and the plates aren't cheap.

Hi Guys....me too.
I'm 6'3" 215 lbs. but I ride a Kona Cindercone. I am thinking about upgrading to the Kona Dawg, but have reservations. My seat post is bending as well, stock seatpost from Kona, but considering that they are using a "Clump" frame, you would thing that they would have a heavy duty seat post for us "big guys" LOL

I ride a 19" frame currently, but wonder how the 20" would do on tight single track stuff.
I've also got my headset raised with a Race Face collar, and that seems to feel a little better then the stock top tube.

Any idea if the Thompson seat post is less prone to bending?

I really like the Dawg for all round CRAZYNESS!!!!! LOL :)
