Ok..ive gotta haro extreme 3 04.....I want to replace the front shock. I use this bike as a all mountain...I like to ride aggressive cross country and when ever there is a jump or a nice 6 foot drop I'm all over it. The dj 2 on the bike sucks on trails and binds up alot. I want something that i can take some drops on but will ride the trails better. Doesnt the dj 2 weigh about 8lbs?????/Anyways..we all know whats wrong with it..Ok so question is...
What should i get.."??? and where can i find one cheap..What would be the best value....
Thanks......

04 z1 freerides sl ecc $419

i have a x3 too and I put a Z150 FR and it's just great.
stay away from the dropoff, get only marzocchi forks that uses the hscv cartridges like the z1 and z150.
if you are more into freeriding get the z150 fr or z1 fr. I dont have any experience with air forks and im sure they are less aggressive than coil/oil.
I bough my z150 at universalcycles.com for 650$ and got 100$ store credit.
jenson had them for 499$

Ok ..but i mainly want a very agressive trail fork... that I can do some 4-8 foot drops on. The z150 is awesome but I think its to much for for me. I don't do much more 6 or so foot drops. So you think the z1drop off or free ride would be good or can you suggest something else.
Thanks

yeah those are proly ur best bet, unless....maybe the new 05 allmountain from marz. i dunno much about it but it looks like a great agressive trail. i bet it could handle some drops too

i have an 8.3 and am looking as well for a new fork. i proly wont be able to get till next year, so by then one of the 66 might be a good choice

i suggest you get a hscv fork, the damping system is not all about the heights you jump but the way the fork works.
the z150 fr is a great fork, one of the best of marzocchi! not just for jumping..
if you are afraid of the weight get the Z1 FR, it works exactly the same just 5".
both has ETA which locks the fork at 30mm travel for climbing.

if you wait for the 2005 models (which you can see at marzocchi's site) there is no Z150, and the Z1 is 150mm, and its supposed to be lighter, but I guess that it will be expensive comparing to end-of-seasson deals that you can get on a 2004 Z1 or Z150.

I dont think that the new allmountain fork will be good for you as for being a much less agressive fork, and it doesnt have a 20mm version as far as I remember, so you must change your front wheel if you are going to put that fork..

for conclusion my suggestion remains, Z1 FR or Z150 FR, stay away from the air forks (SL) and stay away from the drop off versions as for working exactly like the dirt jumper that you want to replace (ssv or ssvf cartridges)
put a z150 if you dont afraid from the weight, you won't regret it.
and btw, the z150 fr is lighter than the dirt jumper :()

I have an 03 DJII and have never had a problem with it. I have done all the way up to an 8' drop and the thing worked great. Of course I am running a lot of air pressure in it because I mainly use it for dirt jumping. I had a 03 Z1 on my other bike and it was better than my DJ for normal rides but for jumping I would take the adjustability of the DJ'er any day.

dj's are good only for dirt jumping and urban rding.
they suck for any kind of trail.
the z1 and z150 are freeride forks, they are great for trail and you can also jump with them, ofcourse that not as aggressive flat landings as you can land with the dj..
